Southern Yellow Pine
Southern Yellow Pine
Southern Yellow Pine is the name of a species group of pine which produces some of the strongest wood in North America. The group is comprised of four trees: loblolly pine, long leaf pine, shortleaf pine and slash pine. The wood has a distinctive color and grain. It is a fast-growing group of pines producing a strong, stiff, and dense wood. It has a low susceptibility to water damage and can withstand a high amount of moisture without rotting. Because it resists moisture, and it is highly resilient against wear and tear, it is a great choice for residential flooring. White pine and yellow pine are similar woods, but yellow pine is stronger, durable and you can expect it to last for decades.
